Hi I recently bought a Fisher f5Morom you and am trying to learn how to use it. I have two questions:
Firstly, periodically the detector begins to emit a rythmic series of regular bleeps that are unaffected by either gain or threshold adjustments. Niether does the sound stop when the unit is being moved. Through trial and error I have discovered that the only way to stop the bleeping is to press the ground balance knob. Is this normal? I cannot find any mention of this in the manual or in any blog.
Secondly, the settings display will often give a nonsensical reading as though some of the 14 lines that make up a digital numeric display are not engaging. Again, is this normal? Up to now this has only been a mild nuscience but as I learn more I fear that I may find I am missing out on vital information.
